ZIMARèl

Intimately linked to his artistic and personal journey, Léo Lérus (born in 1980 in Les Abymes), dancer and choreographer, founded the company Zimarèl in 2011 in Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe, the archipelago from which he originates.

Zimarèl is, indeed, the story of a return to a native land and culture, where reminiscences of GwoKa and Léwoz consciously emerge within a singular contemporary choreographic writing. His foundational dance practice is enriched by the dances encountered throughout an exceptional path, revealing a sensitive and open contemporary Guadeloupean signature, in constant experimentation and exploration.
